Current status on the need for improved accessibility to climate models code

Abstract. Over the past few years, increasing attention has been focused on need to publish computer code as an integral part of research process. This reflected in improved policies publication scientific journals, including key related issues such repositories and licensing. We explore state art availability sharing climate models using Fifth Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP5) a test bed, we include some particular reflections this case. Our results show that there are many limitations terms access for these modelling community needs improve its code-sharing practice comply with best regard most recent editorial publishing policies.
